ARTIST GEE VAUCHER will host a major exhibition of her work at the White Columns gallery in New York, the city’s “oldest alternative non-profit space”, beginning on 12 September. The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of performances and screenings, involving both Vaucher and Penny Rimbaud. Access to all events is free.

The exibition will host its opening reception between 18:00 and 20:00 on 12 September, which will also serve as the US launch event for the Crass: A Pictorial History book. The exhibition will then be open daily until 26 October 2024.

On 14 September, Penny Rimbaud and Ingrid Laubrock will perform ‘Arthur Rimbaud in Verdun’, a performance piece which imagines how the poet Arthur Rimbaud (who died in 1891) might have perceived and responded to the tragedies of the Battle of Verdun which took place in 1916.

On 16 September a screening of Semi Detached, a collection of video material from the Crass era, will be followed by a question-and-answer session with Vaucher and Rimbaud.
