EXITSTENCIL PRESS HAVE just released two new print works reflecting different elements of the unpublished Crass archive.
A ‘special edition’ of the unreleased fifth issue of International Anthem, and a booklet combining the never-before-published Jon Savage interview with the band (originally intended to inform the section of England’s Dreaming discussing Crass) and a reproduction of the rarely seen Life Amongst the Little People, are both now available from the Exitstencil Press site.
International Anthem, Number 5

Special Edition published for Gee Vaucher’s NYC exhibition at White Columns 2024. First originated in 1983 during the Falklands War, but never printed. Size 270mm x 345mm

Four Years After & Counting

In 1991, a book by Jon Savage, was published in Britain called ‘England’s Dreaming’: The Sex Pistols and Punk Rock’ which took a broad look at punk in 70’s London.
In 1989, Jon travelled to Dial House, the home of Crass, to interview them for inclusion in the book. However, when presented with the final manuscript, the publishers, Faber and Faber, rejected the section devoted to Crass, replacing it with a one-liner which read ‘Crass deserve a book of their own’. And so it goes.
Never having been published before, Jon has now, in 2024, kindly allowed Crass to present the interview as a wee ‘book of their own’, 35 years later.
