PENNY RIMBAUD WILL be in conversation with Héctor from Virus Editorial and Haizea Beitia of Industrias MDA at the Malas Artes (‘Bad Art’) event in Barcelona in May.

The day before Rimbaud’s session (which is on 10 May), The Mob will perform live at the same venue – alongside Seein’ Red , Las Lolas, Error de Paralaje, Bombardement and E-150.

Penny Rimbaud (South West London, 1943), founding member of Crass and Crass Records, will be visiting us next Saturday, May 10th, as part of the Malas Artes festival program, where he will share his political, philosophical, and artistic experiences.

Rimbaud is a British poet and musician, best known for co-founding Crass, the anarchist and punk collective that emerged in the late 1970s. More than a band, Crass was a countercultural movement that fused music, art, pacifism, and anarchism.

Rimbaud also played a key role in the creation of Crass Records, the independent label launched by the band itself in 1979, with the aim of escaping the commercial logic of the music industry. Crass Records released not only the group’s albums, but also works by other related bands such as Flux of Pink Indians, Rudimentary Peni, Conflict, Poison Girls, and more.

The operational base for this entire project was Dial House, a rural commune in Essex, England, which continues to operate as a space for living, creating, and meeting.

The conversation will feature Héctor, from Virus Editorial and a former member of bands such as OTAN and Absurdo, and Haizea Beitia, translator, Crass specialist (currently working on a book about the band and the anarcho-punk scene), and member of Industrias MDA.
