A GROUP OF French DIY punks and punk bands have collaborated to record and release a tribute album of covers of songs by The Mob.
Included in the release are versions of Witch Hunt, Our Lives Our World, Another Day Another Death, Raised in a Prison and The Mirror Breaks.
The Let the Tribute Increase album has been released in both digital and cassette formats. The cassette release features a 76-page booklet (written in French) documenting the work of the band and the inspiration behind the individual covers.
For almost two years now, we’ve been working on a compilation album and an accompanying booklet revisiting the world of the English anarcho-punk band The Mob, who have truly
moved and influenced us in our little eight-handed collective (which contains members from Angers, Grenoble and Lille). We’re very happy with the result and happy to offer it to you. So, here it is, ready to be
distributed and ordered at a flexible price (distros can can stock). There are 200 copies of the cassette and just under 300 booklets. In addition to the cassette, you’ll find in the package:
- A linocut by Lille-based illustrator Fleur D’ennui:
- A 16x16cm, 76-page booklet featuring an interview with Mark Wilson, the band’s lead singer; the story of the band; portfolios, and a detailed history of covers of Mob songs
The booklet is also distributed separately for those who don’t have a cassette player. Order it by emailing us.
The cassette is priced at your discretion (the cost is around €5-6, and postage will cost around €4-5). [Postage costs for listeners outside France may be higher]We hope it inspires you as much as this band has inspired us. Thanks to everyone involved in the project, the bands, the recording and mixing staff, Fleurs d’Ennui, Guillaume for the mastering, and Four4 Grenoble for access to the duplication equipment. We’ll leave it to you to discover the results one way or another…
Recorded between the years 2023 and 2024, this tribute to the Mob compilation is born with the meeting of the people behind the french zines Quoique and Banned in the UK, the bands playing here are firmly rooted in the french DIY punk scene.
