AFTER CAREFUL REFLECTION by all the remaining members of the band, and fully in accordance with the wishes of Colin Jerwood’s children (James and Georgia), Conflict have agreed to honour the group already-confirmed live appearances in the UK and Europe in 2025 and in 2026.
Once those gigs have been completed, Conflict will hold a final live show in London – as a fitting tribute to their lead singer, and founder member – whose death, following a short illness, was announced earlier this month.
In a brief video statement released today (20 June), James and Georgia Jerwood expressed their gratitude for all of the “kind words and condolences” shared with them since their dad’s passing – something that “really has brought us comfort in such a terrible time.”
They explain that “on several occasions over the past few years”, their father had said that “if anything were to ever happen to him he would want Conflict and the message to carry on.”
“We wouldn’t want anyone to miss out, particularly those that want to experience more of the new album,” they continue. “The band have previously done gigs in Dad’s absence, so we know they’ll give an incredible performance.”
“We understand that it will never be the same without him but we ask that you turn up and support the band as if he was still on stage as that is what dad would have wanted.”
With the full agreement of the band, Georgia and James ask Conflict’s supporters to recognise that this arrangement “won’t be forever.” After “one final special tribute gig to dad”, it’s intended “to close this chapter” with Colin’s and Conflict’s ambitions then handed “over to you to continue.”
Details of the final London tribute gig are still to be finalised, but will be shared here once confirmed.
On 31st May 2025 we lost our singer, founder and friend. Your words of support have helped us and his family through this very difficult time. Thank you.
— Conflict
Here is a heartfelt message from his children:
We are truly humbled and so appreciative of all of the kind words and condolences since dad’s passing, it really has brought us comfort in such a terrible time.
Our Dad has said on several occasions over the past few years that if anything were to ever happen to him he would want Conflict and the message to carry on.
Therefore the band will be going ahead with the already planned upcoming gigs as a lot of work goes into booking them. We wouldn’t want anyone to miss out, particularly those that want to experience more of the new album. The band have previously done gigs in Dad’s absence, so we know they’ll give an incredible performance.
This won’t be forever. There will be one final special tribute gig to dad after these have taken place, to close this chapter which will then be over to you to continue.
We understand that it will never be the same without him but we ask that you turn up and support the band as if he was still on stage as that is what dad would have wanted.
Please refer to the bands information regarding the upcoming gigs and keep your eyes peeled for information regarding the final tribute gig in months to come.
Regards James and Georgia Jerwood
