The Kiosk - Project Art Space

THE KIOSK PROJECT Art Space in Drogheda, Co Louth is hosting an exhibition of Gee Vaucher’s artwork from 11-14 September 2025.

Curated by Brian Hegarty, the exhibition ‘Words Words Words’ focuses on the relationship between humans and animal kind – the theme at the heart of Vaucher’s Animal Rites: A pictorial study of relationships monograph.

Additional access to the exhibition between 15-20 September may be possible to arrange, on application to the venue.

At 20:00 on Friday 12 September, Vaucher will be joined by  Drogheda-based producer Rita Hynes for an ‘in conversation’ about her work.

A temporary exhibition featuring the work of internationally renowned political artist Gee Vaucher is coming to Drogheda.

Titled ‘WORDS WORDS WORDS,’ the exhibition, which is a collaboration with The Kiosk Project Art Space and curator Brian Hegarty, opens on Thursday, 11th September, from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Vaucher, a former member of the anarcho-punk band Crass, is celebrated for her “radical creativity” and seminal protest art from the 1980s. Her work uses surrealist styles and a DIY aesthetic to create powerful images for social change.

The exhibition will feature her text works as well as a series of images from her Animal Rites series.

The exhibition will run until Sunday, 14th September, but can also be viewed by appointment until 20th September.

In a special event coinciding with the exhibition, Gee Vaucher will be in conversation with Drogheda-based producer Rita Hynes on Friday, 12th September. Hynes is known for her work in DIY publishing and counterculture, and she recently launched an experimental bookshop called Cailleach Books.

Tickets for this event are €10 and have limited capacity, with all proceeds going to Médecins Sans Frontières in Gaza.

The exhibition and talk are supported by Droichead Arts Centre and Drogheda’s Night-Time Economy Officer.
