An interesting piece in The Guardian (where ‘interesting’ does not necessarily equate to ‘right about everything’) by Alexis Petridis (from 18 March) on the history of Oi! and the events of the 1981 Southall gig riot and its aftermath – with reflections from Gary Bushell and Stinky Turner (Cockney Rejects).

A largely unrepentant Bushell (who is prepared to acknowledge the odd poor decision on his part) protests that Oi! remains “without a doubt, the most misunderstood genre in history”.
