Wannabe London fashion house Hardware were caught unaware by a wave of criticism, early in 2012, when they ripped-off the iconic Crass logo, appropriating it as their official company logo.

Wrapping the logo in a chain and writing the company name across the middle did nothing to mitigate the blatant theft of the image. The company’s affront was made worse by their efforts to copyright their ownership of the stolen goods.

Following pressure from Southern, reinforced by a wave of of email and web criticism, the company rebranded their logo, so that it no longer directly resembled the original David King design.
