A ‘ROUGH MIX’ of The Cravats’ set at the final gig of Steve Ignorant’s Last Supper tour has been made available in digital format on the band’s Bandcamp site.
The album comprises the nine songs of The Cravats’ set at the 02 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London on 19 November 2011. The band took to the stage (for the “biggest gig we’d ever done at that point”) ahead of the headline performance by Ignorant and his full band.
The whole of this ‘Last Supper’ show was professionally filmed and recorded in order to enable Steve Ignorant to release a live DVD/CD/LP of his band’s epic performance.
We never got to hear our bit of that recording until March 2023 when the lovely Harvey Birrell found his rough mix of our set and sent it to us (Thanks Harvey).
Yes it is a bit rough but as the soundman on the night had no idea what we were supposed to sound like we feel he did an admirable job (once he’d found the guitar).
This was the biggest gig we’d ever done at that point and we were darned pleased to be included on the bill.
Huge thanks to Steve Ignorant and everyone else involved including Paranoid Visions and Andy T who also performed on the night.
It was marvellous fun.
