CRASS ARTIST GEE Vaucher will appear at the opening event of the Speak Up! protest poster and print exhibition in Otley on 3 May 2024.
Vaucher will take part in a Q&A session with Oli Bentley the co-ordinator of People-Powered Press.
Over the coming weeks, Speak Up! will includes events, performances and presentations, including Boff Whalley and Phil Moody – who will present their musical story of ‘the night art saved George Melly’s life’ – and Danbert Nobacon and Jennifer Reid.
Opening on 3 May, Speak Up! will be an exhibition of political print and posters, with a history of political art leading to our upstairs gallery of contemporary political printmakers and artists. This will be a salon-style hanging of work by renowned artists from both the UK and abroad (see flyer above for details). There’ll be events to tie in with Speak Up!, including performances by Jon Langford, Danbert Nobacon and Jennifer Reid.
