Sastrugi Press announces the release of History Of Punk Rock Around The World by Vítek Formánek and Eva Csölleová.
This new book traces punk rock’s rise from underground clubs to a worldwide cultural movement. Built around original interviews with bands and major figures from the punk scene, the book explores how punk spread across the United States, Great Britain, Europe, Latin America, Asia, Africa, Australia, and beyond.
More than a music history, the book examines the attitude, rebellion, imagery, and underground spirit that shaped generations of outsiders. It also explores how punk evolved differently inside countries facing censorship, political pressure, and social unrest.
The book features interviews, commentary, rare stories, and firsthand perspectives connected to influential bands, artists, promoters, writers, and scene veterans from around the world.
“Punk is about freedom. Freedom of spirit. Freedom in life. Creativity. Doing something that matters.”
